Muscles that move the lower extremity are organized into the Muscle Groups shown below. These groups are from Chapter 6 in the MMM textbook. Each group contains a family of muscles that move a specific part of the lower extremity. For example, Muscle Group 10 contains muscles that move the femur at the hip joint.
